Testimonials

“Wow, it had been less than 10 days since I bought my drone, and I’m already in the top 50 ranking in my area with over 60 flights! Already recovered half of the cost of drone! This has been amazing  experience so far.”
@Soham
"Earning $40/hr is very attainable. Even a brand new drone can be paid off in a couple of days."
@ChAz225
“I am a Spexi pilot, and I've been flying for 8 days now- after work and on weekends. I've made over $1,000. At least look into this a little further, I promise this is a good side hustle if you have a micro drone or are looking to get a drone. Potential to be making $50-70 hour doing this. Please don't overlook this great opportunity!"

FAQ

Do I need any training?

All pilots are responsible for ensuring they follow their local rules and regulations regarding drone pilot certificates, insurance, etc.  Many jurisdictions around the world do not require drone pilot certificates/licenses for drones which weigh under 250g, however some do.

Other more localized rules and by laws exist that pilots should familiarize themselves with before commencing flights in their regions.

All pilots who choose to fly will have the opportunity to undertake free training online which highlights best practices for safe flight, efficient data collection, and Spexi platform functionality.

What drones are compatible?

Will initially be standardizing on the sub-250g class of drone, specifically the DJI Mini 2, Mini 3, and Mini 3 PRO to start. In time, additional drone models will be approved to work on the platform.

How much can I earn?

When the testnet launches, pilots will be able to earn Reputation Points and Cash for collecting & uploading imagery to the platform. In time, points will be capable of being used on the platform for a variety of purposes.

Once the platform moves to mainnet, it is intended that users will continue to earn Reputation Points in addition to also earning SPEXI tokens.

It is our intent to distribute SPEXI tokens at some point in the future, pending regulatory approval or clarity. We hope to reward network contributors in general proportion to their impact and contribution. Reputation Points are intended to play a role in this.

Your reward earning potential will depend on the time you have to fly Spexigons, the number of open Spexigons in your area, and how often the platform needs those Spexigons to be flown.

What is a Spexigon and how do they work?

Spexigons are hexagonal zones that overlay a map of the earth inside the Spexigon app in order to show where imagery needs to be collected.

Each Spexigon contains flight plan information that the drones use (combined with the Spexigon mobile app) to ensure they are flying at the correct height, speed, and location to capture the best imagery possible.

The Spexigon system serves as a method of standardization. The most challenging aspect of working with high-resolution drone imagery is the capture process. By standardizing this process, ensuring it is the same everywhere on Earth, and potentially combining it with a crypto-economic incentive model, Spexigon will capture imagery in a similar fashion to how satellites capture imagery from space.
